TL; DR: Starting September 14th, select Nest Smart Thermostats will receive a $ 50 discount at Home Depot.
If you want to reduce the energy consumption of your home, a smart thermostat is a good place to start.
Google’s Nest Smart Thermostats collect information about your schedule and temperature preferences so you can easily heat and cool your home. For example, if you are rarely on the top floor of your house during the day, it doesn’t make sense to blow the heat up there. That’s the kind of problem the thermostat helps solve. Plus, you can save a ton of money on your electricity bill if you play your cards right. (We’re not sure why, but when we tested these links internally, certain people saw different prices than others. If you don’t see those prices, try a different device.)
The Google Nest Learning Thermostat is the classic Nest model in its latest iteration. Starting September 14, Home Depot is $ 199, a 20% discount off the $ 249 MSRP. It’s not available in every color, but you can buy it in black, polished steel, stainless steel, and white at a discounted price.
Don’t forget about the temperature sensors, which are sold separately.
The Nest Thermostat E is functionally quite similar to the Nest Learning Thermostat, but there are a few key differences. First, the Thermostat E doesn’t have Farsight, a feature on the original model that illuminates the thermostat’s face when it detects your presence in the room. It’s also made of matte white polycarbonate (a type of synthetic plastic) instead of metal, which partly explains why it runs cheaper even when it’s not for sale.
Starting September 14, it will be available to purchase from Home Depot for $ 119, 20% off the MSRP of $ 169.
