Adam Savage turned Spot the Robodog into a creepy rickshaw driver

Like almost everyone who met Spot, his first thought was: "Can I drive with it?" Unfortunately not, given the weight the machine can handle. It was therefore natural for Savage to combine her skills with his obvious love for rickshaws. Obviously. And preparing Spot for the task seems to be relatively easy ̵

1; Savage has just mounted a trailer hitch on its freight rails.

The end result is a creepy, steampunk-like vision of personal transit – but it's certainly efficient. Does a spot rickshaw have a place in real life? In view of the gradual emergence of autonomous transport capsules and the like, this is not beyond all possibilities. In addition, Boston Dynamics recently made Spot's SDK available to anyone who wants it.

Boston Dynamics, however, was vague about Spot pricing. Advising potential buyers to get a quote, but leasing the early adopter program will be less than the price of a car. If you're looking for a convenient way to get around, getting a car may be better.
