With the PlayStation 5 nearing its inevitable (albeit unknown) release date, Sony has announced a new storefront for the next-generation game console for next week.
In a post on the PlayStation blog, SIE’s Sid Shuman said, “Before PlayStation 5 launches this holiday, we wanted you to take a look at some of the great games that are coming with the PS5 launch (and beyond!).”
The storefront will be streamed on YouTube and Twitch on Wednesday, September 16 at 1:00 p.m. PDT (1:30 p.m. IST).
The showcase is expected to last around 40 minutes and will include updates on titles being developed by Sony’s first-party studios and third-party partners.
While the announcement makes no mention of hardware or other unannounced features, Sony made a surprising reveal in its June storefront by revealing the console at the bottom of its storefront.
PlayStation 5 is slated to hit the market towards the end of 2020, although the price and price of the peripherals it has announced are unknown. Microsoft recently announced the price and release dates of its next-generation Xbox consoles.
