When it comes to portable wireless sound, there is usually a compromise between the following factors: build quality and design, sound performance, and noise cancellation technology. If you're lucky, you can get two out of three in a pair, but not all. Until now. British audio technology company Bowers & Wilkins appears to have developed the perfect noise canceling headphone, the PX. These wireless cans not only sound flawless, they also look incredible and offer first-class noise reduction. Unfortunately, with a retail price of $ 400, they're also a bit expensive. Well, we have some great news. At the moment, you can buy the Bowers & Wilkin PX for $ 325 ̵
The Bowers and Wilkins PX look amazingly good. The outside is covered with leather (either in space gray or soft gold) and has a matte surface that gives it a cool vintage look. However, the elliptical ear pads are narrower than most over-ear headphones. We were initially skeptical that this design would compromise comfort, but they actually do a great job of surrounding the ear and suppressing noise when worn.
Unfortunately, the headband squeezes a little, and we wanted more cushioning than we did. We adjusted it so that the pressure from the top of our head was released during long listening sessions. A little more padding would have done a lot. It is also worth noting that these headphones cannot be folded, but the cups rotate to lie almost flat, and the headband is flexible so that they are easy to store. The control buttons are on the right auricle, including pause / play and volume control.
We are pleased to announce that the PX has proven to be excellent in terms of features and performance. Active noise suppression is made possible by the algorithm developed by B & W, which can be used to eliminate mass noises, air conditioning noises, the noise of daily commuting and even the roar of an aircraft engine. There are modes in the PX app that you can activate to optimize the PX's noise reduction function.
Music that sounded perfect when listening to the PX. Unlike other active noise canceling headphones, where the frequency played to combat background noise affects the quality of the music, these headphones have been able to maintain the subtle nuances of the music. The PX is equipped with the aptX HD, an improved codec that improves the signal-to-noise ratio, which results in lower background noise. So every genre of music we played on them sounded great with great bass.
Bowers and Wilkins claims that the PX's lithium polymer battery can offer up to 22 hours of playtime, and they're not wrong. In fact, the battery life of the headphones can be extended up to 50 hours under normal operating conditions, in which they are repeatedly stopped and removed.
Outstanding build quality, great sound, excellent noise reduction, great battery life Bowers and Wilkins PX headphones are slightly affected by their uncomfortable tight fit. Buy it today for $ 325 from Amazon.
