AMD’s Ryzen 9 5900X next-generation CPU: Intel destroyer with 12 cores and 24 threads ?!

AMD is working hard on it Next generation Zen 3 architecture, something we’ll hear about very soon – like on October 8th soon. But right now we have some leaks.

In a new tweet from software developer Patrick Shur, we have some new information about AMD’s new Zen 3-based family of CPUs, which is supposedly called the Ryzen 5000 series. Most expected the Ryzen 4000 series (which is already in laptops), but it seems that AMD could move out of the Ryzen 4000 nomenclature for the Renoir FP6 (mobile) and Renoir AM4 (desktop) series.

Shur tweeted that we should expect the flagship Ryzen 9 5900X as a 1

2-core CPU with 24 threads, while the Ryzen 7 5800X is an 8 core design with 16 threads. Better still, these new samples supposedly hit a huge one 4.9 GHz This should give Intel a chance with its 10th generation Core CPUs.

What to expect from Zen 3 so far:

  • Zen3 will be the first major redesign of Zen that is focused on power / watt and scalability
  • Better IPC, 8 core per CCX, new I / O chip with better memory controller, improved SMT and more efficient boost
  • The new Boost doesn’t focus on getting much higher clocks. It is designed to handle long workloads. It can be sustained for several minutes
