Apex Legends Players were thrilled to return to Kings Canyon after dark on Thursday night to get nostalgic about Skulltown, but the mode’s revival was ultimately hampered by a bizarre readiness error that prevented large groups of fighters from joining lobbies.

As can be seen in the screenshot above, the traditional Ready button just says “Select,” meaning those hoping for classic Kings Canyon action couldn’t. While the problems have largely subsided without direct comment from apexSome workarounds have been discovered by the developers at Respawn for those who are still experiencing issues as the lobbies fill up in the Friday morning hours.   • Quit the game or reinstall it from scratch and try to prepare.
  • Try joining another server.
  • Hang out with a friend and join their lobby.
  • Have a friend ready, join their game, go and come back.

News of this bug comes just days after Respawn was forced to disable the DUMMIES Big Day LTM, which was originally slated to kick off the September soirée event earlier this week. Since this mode is still suspended, dataminers have now determined that the new rotation of the event includes the following modes in that order.
