Apple introduces four new iPhones this week. In addition to the regular iPhone 12 and the iPhone 12 Mini, the company is introducing two high-end devices: the iPhone 12 Pro and the iPhone 12 Pro Max.
All four of these new devices have a lot in common, so I would recommend reading my article on the new entry-level iPhones here first. But here’s a quick breakdown anyway: Apple is bringing back the iconic design for the iPhone, all new iPhones have 5G and Super Retina XDR OLED displays, none of them have displays with 120Hz refresh rate, night mode for everyone Cameras All have the new A14 chip, which contains the fastest CPU and GPU of all smartphones.
What do you get when you spend more on the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max? First, the iPhone 12 Pro has the same 6.1-inch OLED display as the regular iPhone 12. The iPhone 12 Pro Max, on the other hand, has a 6.7-inch display, making it the largest iPhone ever. This thing is massive. It contains the same Ceramic Shield with improved 4X drop performance as the regular iPhone devices.
However, there are a few key changes to the rear – mainly to the cameras. The iPhone 12 Pro has a wide-angle lens (1: 1.6 aperture), an ultra-wide-angle lens, a telephoto lens (1: 2.0 aperture) with 4x optical zoom and a LiDAR sensor that enables new AR experiences . The larger iPhone 12 Pro Max, on the other hand, has the best camera Apple has ever built. It comes with a similar setup but has a 5x optical zoom for the telephoto lens, an improved OIS, and a 47% larger wide-angle lens. The new A14 Bionic chip also enables Deep Fusion on all four cameras of the iPhone 12.
The new iPhone 12 also lets you record HDR videos and brings 10-bit HDR video recording to the iPhone 12. The iPhone 12 Pro is also the first phone camera to work in Dolby Vision HDR with 4K resolution and 60 frames per second records. You can also edit these Doly Vision videos right from your iPhone 12 Pro.
The company is even rolling out a new feature later this year called Apple ProRaw, a new camera feature that will be exclusive to the iPhone 12 Pro range. Apple ProRAW gives professionals much more control over their photos, and Apple will also enable a new API that third-party apps can use to manipulate ProRAW images.
Apple puts a lot of emphasis on the new LIDAR sensor on the back of the iPhone 12 Pro models, which we first saw on the iPad Pro earlier this year. According to Apple, the new LiDAR sensor enables the iPhone 12 to understand the world around you and offers “instant AR” experiences on the Pro line. The LiDar sensor is also used when shooting in low light to improve autofocus in low light and low light in general. According to Apple, the auto focus in poor lighting conditions is now 6 times faster with the new LiDAR sensor and improves portrait images in poor lighting conditions.
The new iPhone 12 Pro models are available in gold, silver, graphite and blue. For storage, iPhone 12 Pro models start at 128GB and go up to 512GB. The new iPhone 12 Pro starts at $ 999 and the iPhone 12 Pro Max starts at $ 1099. iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 are available to pre-order this Friday and ship on October 23rd. iPhone 12 Pro Max and iPhone 12 Mini are available for pre-order on November 6th and ship on November 13th.
