Apple AirPods (2nd generation) – from $ 130
What’s the difference between the first and second generation AirPods besides upgrading the wireless charging case? Not much to be honest. They look the same, though there are some notable improvements under the hood, including the H1
The latest AirPods rock the same golf tee shape as their predecessors. Many people seem to like this design (considering how popular they are), although if you ask us what the old earpods look like with the wires cut off. Compared to its wired counterpart, the wireless charging case now has LED lights on the front that allow you to view the charging status when the case is placed on a Qi charging pad. Apple claims that the case can carry the same amount of reserve fees as it did three years ago and offer up to 24 hours, which still outperforms most of its competitors.
The controls on board are the same as before – for better or worse. Each AirPod works autonomously, which means that it doesn’t run out of juice at the same time. Audio pauses automatically when you take one out – but only on Apple devices. As usual, they don’t have the standard volume and song skip controls. They only offer double-click play and skip forward. However, you can assign play / pause, next track, and previous track controls to both earbuds in your iPhone’s Bluetooth settings if you want. To change the volume, you can simply ask Siri to increase or decrease the volume for you. If you have an Android phone, you don’t have to run it manually.
Speaking of Siri: With the old AirPods, voice-controlled control was not possible. You can thank Apple’s new H1 chip for this, in addition to the lower game delay and the “50% faster” connection for phone calls – although we haven’t found any real difference compared to other real wireless earphones, including the original AirPods. Apple also claims that the chip can significantly reduce your voice distortion in windy conditions for superior call quality. We tested this in moderate wind and it actually worked. Despite all of these extremely welcome additions, it’s hard to forgive Apple for the fact that the AirPods are still not sweat-proof. To do this, you have to pay a premium price for the Airpods Pro, which also have active noise cancellation.
When it comes to sound quality, the AirPods 2 fall into the “not bad” category. It reminded us a lot of the wired EarPods. It’s far from terrible and we appreciate the softness and warmth it gives certain songs, but that’s not exactly what you’re looking for when you hear hip-hop, rap, and other beat-driven genres. It is a very secure sound signature that should not offend anyone.
With AirPods 2 you get a modest update. If you’re an iPhone user, these are the best real wireless earbuds, especially if you’re looking for convenience. If you already have the old AirPods, you don’t need to buy them.

It’s probably pretty obvious that we weren’t too impressed with the standard AirPods. There are only a few other real wireless earbuds that offer better value for money. When Apple announced that it would release the pimped AirPod Pro, we were of course skeptical. Will the company be able to deliver that time and improve any areas where the AirPods have failed? The answer is a resounding yes. The AirPods Pro are shockingly good and a big win for Apple. Their sound quality has improved enormously, their noise suppression is spectacular and they are extremely comfortable to use even for a long time. The only problem we anticipate is the questionable long-term battery life. Right now, you can get the AirPods Pro at Amazon for $ 228 at the checkout instead of $ 249 – a cool $ 21 discount.
I love it or hate it, AirPods’ golf tee design is iconic, so Apple wasn’t too far from it when it came to developing AirPods Pro. You currently have a shorter stem, which brings us to this main concern: battery life. While the AirPods Pro offer the same battery performance as the standard AirPods (around 4.5 to 5 hours of listening time and / or 3.5 hours of call time per charge), we fear that the smaller batteries may not last in the long run. Unlike the Airpods, the AirPods Pro come with three sets of silicone earbuds that snap into place with a satisfactory click instead of sliding on a small knob as so many other in-ear buds require. This change not only offers a safer and more comfortable fit, but also contributes to better bass reproduction.
The AirPods Pro inherit the controls from the original AirPods, which means they’re incredibly easy to use and, as expected, Siri is always listening and ready to follow every command. As with most real radio buds with active noise cancellation, you have the option to either turn off the noise or let everything in. Apple calls the latter function “transparency mode”. If you activate this option, sounds from the outside world can arrive very quickly in a natural way, almost as if you had removed the buds yourself. The noise reduction is extremely first-class and almost corresponds to the range of over-ear ANC headphones. Last but not least, the AirPods Pro offer impressive sound performance. Their sound signature is great, rich in subtle details with some piquant highs, rounded off by a full-bodied bass.
We put our hat on the Apple AirPods Pro. These are absolutely the best real wireless earbuds you can get as an iOS user. Get it today on Amazon for $ 228.

The bezels of the standard iPad are still incredibly large (if you zoom them out, it looks a bit more contemporary), but this tablet now has a larger 10.2-inch screen compared to the 9.7-inch display of the Predecessor. In comparison, the trimmed bezels of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 and those of the iPad Pro look extremely modern. However, none of this means that the iPad feels cheap. It has a nice, remarkable weight and a case made of 100% recycled aluminum, which is good for the environment. Instead of the Face ID, which is only available for the iPad Pro and the latest iPhones, you get the Touch ID, although for most users this is not a deal breaker. What makes this different from the older iPad 9.7 is that it supports the Smart Connector so you can use it with Apple’s Smart Keyboard (sold separately).
As already mentioned, this device offers a slight enlargement of the screen. The pixel density of the LCD panel is the same at 264 pixels per inch, although it looks sharp, colorful and very bright. And luckily, unlike the iPad Pro, the headphone jack was not removed. You no longer have to look for a 3.5mm flash socket if your Bluetooth headphones lose power.
Oddly, the iPad 10.2 did not receive a processor upgrade, unlike the rest of the iPad range, which now has the A12 Bionic chipset. However, the A10 Fusion processor on this tablet still offers a lot of performance. Multitasking with multiple apps open is not a problem, and navigation on the new iPadOS is smooth. The previous iPads only ran with a slightly modified version of the iOS, but the iPadOS is a completely different beast. You can use multiple apps in the Slide Over menu, a redesigned layout of the home screen that includes Today View widgets, Safari for desktops, and multi-window apps. You can now even use split view in the same app, e.g. B. if two Google Docs are open next to each other.
The first generation Apple Pencil is compatible with this iPad and remains an excellent and responsive tool. However, there’s still no way to save it, unlike the second generation Apple Pencil that is magnetically attached to the iPad Pro, and there’s still a risk of it being halved every time you use the Lightning – Charge the connection. After all, the battery life was pretty good. You can use the iPad temporarily for a maximum of three days, or a full working day if you want to use it as the primary device.
Despite its shortcomings, the iPad 10.2 is the best tablet you can buy on a budget. It is powerful, has a fantastic operating system and offers a solid battery life. You can buy it with 32GB of storage on Amazon for just $ 279 instead of $ 329, which means cool savings of $ 50.
The 13.3-inch MacBook Pro is a matter of beauty and remains the most luxurious laptop on the market. It is rock hard and has a unibody made of aluminum, which apart from the lower seams has no visible seams. However, there are a few things that keep us from fully recommending it. Although it has a fantastic display, top-notch processor and hard drive performance, the frustrating lack of ports and lackluster keyboard need to be addressed. The 13.3-inch MacBook Pro with 7th generation Intel Core i5 processor is currently available from B&H Photo Video for $ 150 below the usual price. Get it for $ 1,149 instead of $ 1,299.
Let’s start with the good things. The MacBook Pro’s Retina display is great. With a pixel resolution of 2,560 × 1,600, the screen is not only super high resolution, but also ridiculously bright, colorful and rich in contrast. With a maximum brightness of 548 lux, it doesn’t matter whether you use it in the brightest room in the world – you will definitely see everything. The images look extremely realistic and the colors are fantastic thanks to True Tone technology. Finally, the contrast ratio is excellent. The MacBook Pro easily delivers perfect black tones alongside the whitest white tones.
We also have no major complaints when it comes to performance. In our processor and hard drive tests, the MacBook Pro delivered outstanding numbers that are among the best we have ever encountered. However, this laptop is not suitable for gaming. Graphically challenging games like Civilization VI went badly with many glitches. We blame the integrated Intel graphics chip and Apple’s OpenGL support, which has not been significantly updated in years.
While we’re very happy that the MacBook Pro still has a headphone jack, Apple decided that USB-C and Thunderbolt 3 were the future and threw away every other port. Yes, USB-C is all you get, two on each side for a total of four. Although the simplicity of port selection has some advantages (each port is a charging port, so you can connect the wall adapter to the more convenient one), you will need many adapters for any other peripheral device you plan to attach. Would you like to use an external display? You need an adapter. External hard drive? Adapter. Any kind of wired input? Adapter. Ethernet? Adapter. SD card? Adapter. The greatest crime of all? You can’t even connect an iPhone without buying an adapter.
The keyboard is also not very good. While definitely an improvement over the older MacBook Pros thanks to the improved key travel, it still suffers from a stiff, abrupt ground movement that can tire long typing operations.
This MacBook Pro includes the touch bar (devices that don’t have this feature tend to be cheaper), but frankly it’s not very useful. It’s great to look at and that’s about it. Yes, it offers a quick way to scroll through lists and can also be useful if you want to scroll through a video, but it is limited by its size. The miniature content previews shown are helpful, but so small that it is often difficult to tell tabs apart, even when only three or four are open. If you open even more tabs, you will no longer be able to tap each tab. Unfortunately, it’s not very important for the MacBook experience.
Despite its shortcomings, it is difficult to discredit the incredible build quality, lightning-fast performance, and impressive display of the 13.3-inch MacBook Pro. Get it today at B & H Photo Video for $ 1,149.
