It’s one of the highly anticipated smartphones of 2020, and now we could finally see the iPhone 12.
Apple is hosting an event today called “Time Flies,” which is said to have four new iPhones released, expected to be called iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Max, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max.
The event will take place at 6:00 p.m. CET and Apple could also unveil a new iPad Air and Apple Watch.
Unsurprisingly, pre-launch rumors of the new iPhones were rampant, with reports of a quad rear camera setup and 5G capabilities.
Ahead of the kick-off event this afternoon, here̵
Apple is expected to introduce four iPhones at the event, which will vary in size.
The iPhone 12 is expected to have a tiny 5.4-inch display, while the iPhone 12 Max and iPhone 12 Pro will have a 6.1-inch display.
After all, the iPhone 12 Pro Max is expected to be the largest of the four new smartphones with a 6.7-inch display.
According to respected leaker Jon Prosser, all four new iPhones will have 5G capabilities.
In contrast to its competitors like Samsung, Huawei and OnePlus, Apple is one of the few technology giants that has not yet made a 5G smartphone.
When it comes to cameras, rumors suggest that the iPhone 12 Pro might have a rear camera with four lenses, with the four lenses arranged in a square on the top left of the smartphone.
The iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max are also rumored to have a new LiDAR scanner that would allow for enhanced augmented reality and portrait mode.
The iPhone 12 is expected to be available in similar pastel colors as the iPhone 11, which comes in black, green, yellow, purple, red, and white.
In the meantime, like their predecessors, the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max could be available in Space Gray, Silver, Gold and Midnight Green colors.
Finally, rumors suggest that Apple might introduce a new dark blue color option for its top-end models.
Rumors have it that the batteries could deal a blow, like last year’s iPhones.
The iPhone 12 is expected to have a 2,227 mAh battery, while the iPhone 12 Max and iPhone 12 Pro could have a 2,775 mAh battery.
Finally, the iPhone 12 Pro Max will likely have a huge 3,687 mAh battery.
While there aren’t too many pricing rumors, we expect the iPhone 12 range to have a starting price similar to what the iPhones have seen in recent years.
That could mean the iPhone 12 starts at £ 729, the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Max at £ 1,049, and the iPhone 12 Pro Max at £ 1,149.
As always, this is just speculation and there are times when Apple may raise prices due to 5G compatibility.
While Apple is likely to unveil the new iPhones today, avid fans can wait a while to get their hands on them.
Apple has announced that the iPhones will go on sale later than normal due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Leaker Jon Prosser suggests that the iPhone 12 range won’t be announced until October 12th before pre-orders start on October 16th.
This means you may not be able to get your hands on one physically until around October 23rd.
