The ATEM Mini is a console with a width of only 9.5 inches and a height of 1.4 inches and a depth of 4 inches. She is small and discreet enough to stay on a desk. It looks solid, but it's probably not robust enough to stand up in challenging outdoor locations. The buttons (all 59) light up in different colors and feel good, requiring just the right amount of pressure to activate.
On the back there are four HDMI video inputs for sources such as PCs and camcorders with two 3.5 mm microphone inputs. You can connect a monitor via an HDMI output and control the ATEM Mini with a PC via a USB-C connection. This USB-C port also serves as a webcam output so you can stream videos directly to OBS Studio or a similar livestreaming app. The ATEM Mini can output videos with a resolution of up to 1080p60, but no 4K resolution.
As an allusion to its business-critical streaming feature, the power cord has a screw cap that can not accidentally pull it out. It also has an Ethernet port for custom remote control devices so you can operate them from a different location.

At the top there are controls for switching the microphones on and off and adjusting the levels.
The effect controls are located in the right part of the console. Above you can select different picture-in-picture effects as well as chroma and other keying modes. Below are the transitions controls (wipes, push wipes, transitions, and transitions). At the bottom right, you can choose to cut, dissolve, or fade in black.
With a variety of controls, you can operate the ATEM Mini for most tasks without having to dive into the software. This makes it easy for one-man livestreamers to use them. Since the console is also aimed at people who regularly conduct video productions (interviews, cooking shows, business presentations and training sessions), it is easy to capture and use thanks to physical control.

For example, if you want to key-in a game and specify an n Not particularly well-lit green screen behind him, the software Allows fine-tuning of foreground and background. You can also make color adjustments, add shadows and contours to graphics, crop recordings, and so on.
With ATEM software control, you can also add photos, graphics, and titles in the lower third. These are displayed above your video output, provided they have a transparency layer. In short, you can turn your rudimentary twitch stream into something that looks much more professional.
Whatever you do on the physical console is also displayed in the ATEM software and vice versa. Once you've set it up in the software the way you want, you can run your show completely from the board. For example, this distracts less during a game stream than a laptop screen or monitor.
One of the most impressive features of the ATEM Mini is the flexibility of the video inputs. You can connect a camera with 1080p 30 fps, another with 720p 50 fps and a laptop with 1080p 60 fps. Because the ATEM Mini has built-in transcoder for each channel, you can easily combine them. You can then output at the resolution of your highest quality input (in this case, 1080p 60 fps). The ATEM Mini can even handle 10-bit video sources if you require high-quality output.
For my own livestream I have a Panasonic GH5s camera connected to channel 1 and a Sony RX100 IV to channel 2 gaming laptop on channel three and a control laptop on channel four. I then plugged the USB-C port into the control laptop, where I recorded the stream with OBS Studio. I could have streamed live on YouTube or Twitch with the same software.
To record my voice, I connected both clip-on and shotgun microphones to test the audio mix functions. I was also able to interfere with the audio from both cameras and both laptops for a total of six stereo audio sources. Finally, I loaded a few graphics with and without transparency channels for keying in the media player.
