Ten years ago, Audi pushed a 10-cylinder engine into a supercar. The automakerbut is not finished yet as a new special edition is in sight. Audi presented the R8 V10 Decennium on Thursday, a limited edition of its 10-cylinder supercar. It includes the same updates as the rest of the R8 series, including a redesigned nose and a stylish new rear diffuser. However, the Decennium complements this with a special, matt gray varnish application. Its 20-inch wheels leave plenty of room for buyers to enjoy a braking system that's bigger than the heads of most.
As for the interior, it is a black-black-black-black affair. Glossy carbon fiber inlays provide variety, while the sports seats are provided with a diamond pattern booklet. The steering wheel and shifter, along with the center armrest, door armrest and door rail, are provided with copper contrasting stitching. The steering wheel has an Alcantara suede rim, which facilitates gripping. As you might expect, there are Decennium badges everywhere. Even the puddle lamps have a decennium emblem.
The more powerful of the two V1
Only 222 examples of the R8 V10 decennium are built. Some will come to the US, but it is unclear how many will be provided for our coasts, and it is also unclear how much it costs here. Audi said the Decennium will cost in Germany 222,000 euros, which represents a premium of 22,000 euros (about 25,000 dollars) over the "normal" 620-horsepower R8 V10.
