Retailers that are closed on Thanksgiving
A number of stores close on Thanksgiving this year, often ending the long tradition of starting Black Friday sales on Thursday before the turkey had a chance to cool down. These retailers haven’t announced plans for Friday, November 27. However, we will update this article as soon as we learn more about their vacation times.
In addition, all retailers listed below require customers to wear facewear. Unless their policies change between now and Thankskgiving, it can be assumed that face covers are also required for Black Friday sales.
Prime Day will be closer to Black Friday than ever before
Amazon has postponed this year’s Prime Day, which usually takes place in July, because of the pandemic. But until recently there was no word on when it could be. Amazon has now revealed that. On paper, this means “between October 1st and December 31st”. October would make the most sense, and there is still no precise word about when the event will take place beyond this three-month window. But compared to its usual July slot, Prime Day 2020 will clearly be fairly close to Black Friday, with no more than 56 days between the two sales.
