Rumor mill: With Nvidia Ampere cards receiving a lot of praise and high demand, the tech industry is waiting for AMD’s answer. Team Red will unveil its next generation graphics cards on October 28th. We heard again that the flagship will have 16GB of VRAM, while the model below will have 12GB of video RAM.
The latest allegation comes from the productive leaker @_rogame who has tweeted that he “confirmed” both the 21- and Navi Navi 22 GPUs has. In the former case, which is based on the Big Navi design of the flagship Radeon 6000 series, including the Radeon RX 6900 XT, it will have 16GB of VRAM.
I now have confirmation for both:
> Navi2116 GB VRAM
> Navi22 12 GB VRAM
I have no idea if these are fully punched or shortened SKUs

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard of the Navi 21 with 16GB of RAM. Last month, Coreteks tweeted the same claim from the YouTube technical analysis channel, adding that AMD valued the card at $ 599 but cut it down to $ 549 after the Ampere reveal.
Other leaks, based on an alleged technical example, claim that Big Navi will use Samsung’s GDDR6 memory over a 256-bit bus interface.
Rogame writes that the cheaper Navi 22 GPU will offer 12 GB of RAM – possibly via a 192-bit interface. They admitted they weren’t sure whether these two confirmed flavors are based on the full GPU chips or discounted SKUs.

If Big Navi’s claim is correct, it would mean that the RDNA 2-based card offers twice as much storage as the RTX 3070 and 6GB more than the RTX 3080. The massive 24 GB of the RTX 3090 and We have just heard that an RTX 3080 variant with 20 GB and an RTX 3070 with 16 GB of VRAM are on the way.
Nothing on the Radeon 6000 series is confirmed, except for the cooler design – probably for the flagship – which AMD has tweeted, so we could see how 512-bit and 384-bit VRAM different quantities and bus specifications. Everything will be announced on October 28th.
