Microsoft is currently investigating an authentication failure with Office 365 and preventing users from accessing some of the company’s most frequently used services, including Office.com, Outlook.com, and Teams.
The company’s status dashboard said the issue started at 2:25 p.m. local time and has been affecting consumers around the world for the past several hours. Some government users could also be affected, the company said.
In a series of tweets, Microsoft said it fixed the problem but had to roll back the changes after the update failed.
Currently, Microsoft said it is “redirecting traffic to alternative infrastructure to improve the user experience while we investigate further.”
This leaves millions on the US west coast and users in Australia still unable to access their online services.
