The Oculus Quest 2, the latest all-in-one VR headset from Facebook, features the highest resolution display ever. It’s also lighter and weighs just 503 grams, which is 10 percent lighter than the previous generation. It’s also cheaper, costing $ 299 in the US. That makes it $ 100 cheaper than the previous Oculus headset.
The Oculus Quest 2 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR2 Platform processor with 6 GB of RAM. The headset’s screen is a quick toggle LCD panel with a resolution of 1832 × 1920 pixels and a refresh rate of 72 Hz. The Oculus Quest 2 controllers have also been updated, and the VR headset is said to have a longer battery life of up to 3 hours to have. The Oculus Quest 2 is available in a new two-tone design, available in light gray and black. Facebook announced that the Oculus Quest 2 will soon be the only Oculus device on the market. The company also said it is pulling the plug on its PC-VR lineup months after it ended sales of the Oculus Go. The previous generation of the Oculus Quest VR headset went on sale in April last year.
In addition to the Oculus Quest 2, Facebook announced a few other new things at this year’s Facebook Connect conference, such as the Ray-Ban branded smart glasses, which the company plans to launch in 2021.
