Facebook seemingly released the Oculus Quest 2 headset ahead of an official announcement for this week.
Some videos popped up on the Facebook Blueprint website showing the next all-in-one VR system. Some of the information has been removed, some remains – and of course the videos have been ripped and posted on YouTube.
We have specifications, but no release date or price. Here is a list of the contents:
- Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 processor
- 6 GB RAM
- Almost 2K resolution per eye – over 50 percent more pixels than Quest 1
- 3D positional audio
- New controller ergonomics
- Optional 256 GB integrated memory
It’s also noteworthy that all Quest games work with Quest 2 and there’s a new soft-touch strap that makes the headset easier to put on and take off. The Quest 2 is smaller and lighter than its predecessor.
Expect more about Oculus Quest 2 when properly announced, likely at the Facebook Connect developers conference on Wednesday September 16.
