Last week Ford unveiled the brand new Puma ST in Europe, marking its first Ford Performance SUV in Europe. The Puma ST has 200 HP of power under the hood and can reach 100 km / h in 6.7 seconds. The vehicle has a mechanical limited slip differential that is unique in its segment.
Ford gave the vehicle driving modes from eco to track modes to ensure the greatest possible versatility. This is the first Ford Performance vehicle with an Eco mode that offers drivers a variety of driving scenarios. The engine under the hood is a 1.5 liter EcoBoost. The automaker notes that the vehicle’s chassis has a bespoke stabilizer with pivot bars and damper configurations.

The LSD is a mechanical quaife unit that is available as part of the performance package. It is designed to optimize front end traction and improve cornering ability while reducing understeer by utilizing the Torque Vectoring Control system. Ford also increased the torsional stiffness of the Puma ST by 50 percent compared to the standard model.
The frequency-reactive double-tube dampers from Hitachi front and rear improve body control and driving comfort. The EcoBoost motor has an output of 200 hp and 320 Nm of torque. It also features a bespoke air intake and free flowing exhaust system for improved performance. The engine is three-cylinder and uses cylinder deactivation technology to improve efficiency. A six-speed manual gearbox with a directly reduced axle ratio comes directly from the Fiesta ST. The Ford Puma ST is only available in Europe and prices are not disclosed.
