Over the last three months, you may have seen a joke format that asks viewers to help pop culture characters by specifying their credit card number. This meme was the calling card of "VoiceoverPete," an actor who delivers lines with such an impressive command that people were willing to pay him for their own videos-that is, until the site hosting his services was Account announced because of the proliferation of fraud. However, VoiceoverPete's career has not died. Instead, a worshiping audience has found a new way to pay Pete thousands of dollars for more memes.
At this time, there are many riffs on VoiceoverPete's ticket, but the most famous must be a Fortnite video, which was uploaded in October. "Attention all epic players," begins the clip. "John Wick needs your help," he continues, pointing to a popular character skin in the Battle Royale game. To make a profit in the game, the video suggested John Wick did not need your shooting skills, but your credit card number.
The whole thing was obviously a joke and one that sounded by hiring VoiceoverPete to create versions of the Mems for other media franchises. Pete used Fiverr, an online service that allows freelancers to be paid for a variety of tasks, from graphic design to education. The voice actor charged $ 50 per voice-over. (He also apparently did not discriminate ̵
However, Pete has not given up. Instead, the voice actor has created a Patreon, where he currently draws more than $ 9,000 a month from viewers who want more meme video. Anyone paying at least US $ 5 per month will receive a short video of about 15 words from Pete. Higher levels, however, promise larger scripts and private chats. The most expensive option, which costs $ 150, promises two videos that take precedence over other jobs and can also be published on Pete's own channel. This top tier also offers the opportunity to play games with Pete himself. It is sold out like most of the stages offered.
VoiceoverPete has hundreds of users right from the start, which makes sense given that its previous Fiverr account was closed with hundreds of pending orders. Surprisingly, the meme has been around since September, but it just seems to get more traction, especially after Pete was banned.
Even top gaming personalities like Tyler "Ninja" Blevins are behind VoiceoverPete.
In return for a video requesting people to subscribe to Blevins on Twitch with their Prime account, Blevins has reportedly agreed to stream Fortnite with Pete. YouTuber Grandayy, who had originally banned Pete's message, got Pete to make this video. The best part is that in this case it is absolutely appropriate to ask for a credit card number.
According to Pete's first Patreon update, the two Fortnite symbols are currently trying to schedule a game time. The patrons will be the first to know when it happens.
"This is new and exciting," Pete wrote about Patreon. "Considering that I just shot Fiverr on Monday and did not even have a Patreon account. LOL "
