Here’s everything we know so far about the Fortnitemares 2020 Halloween event, including the return of Midas to Fortnite.
We’ve been hosting a Fortnite Halloween event for the Battle Royale game mode called Fortnitemares for the past two years. Each year, players will have the opportunity to complete Fortnitemares challenges which will provide players with Season XP and a variety of cosmetics such as sprays and loading screens.
Epic added an umbrella reward for players who defeated the Storm King, which is included in the new Halloween-themed LTM. There were only six challenges for Battle Royale last year, but there were a number of additional challenges for players to complete for creative purposes that provided players with XP and different styles of skateboard back-bling.
We’re going to get another Fortnitemares event this year and as usual, data miners have released some features and elements that will likely be rolled out at the start of the event. Here is everything we know about Fortnitemares 2020 through leaks and past events.
Challenges and Free Cosmetic Rewards
There is no surprise here. We will get Fortnite challenges in Fortnitemares as well as some free cosmetics and XP. Epic isn’t releasing too many Battle Royale challenges for the Halloween event. So expect 5 or 6 challenges with a big cosmetic reward and some sprays and XP.
We should see a bunch of creative challenges again that give players more XP, along with some styles of back bling. I am still confident that Epic will focus more on the BR challenges this year.
Again, there is no surprise. Epic games always add decorations for important holidays like Christmas and Halloween. Expect there to be decorations all over the Fortnite map, some of which could be part of the Fortnitemares challenges.
Broom Mobility Item
Data miners have indicated that we can add brooms to the game as a mobility item for Fortnitemares 2020. There is a new box added to the files in the v14.30 update called “Broom Box”, as well as a consumable with the code name “Wbroom”.
If a broom mobility item has been added to the game, it may be available in certain LTMs instead of the normal game modes. We’ll likely know more when the next big Fortnite update is released. However, there is also the option for it to be added in all game modes, but works similarly to the mythical ability of Silver Surfer’s Surfboard.
Fortnite Halloween Skins & Cosmetics
We’ve already seen Epic Games re-launch Fortnite Halloween-themed skins and cosmetics, as well as the ultimate Halloween-themed billing package. We’ll likely see more new Halloween Fortnite skins as well as the release of Fortnite Goth Legends Pack.
In the last update, not only was the broom item leaked, but data miners also leaked some new consumables that will be added to the game at the start of the Fortnitemares event. Pepper Ming, Hot Drop, Candy Corn, Jelly Bean, and Thermal Taffy are the names of all of the new Halloween-themed consumables that have been added to the files.
There’s also a candy bucket that players are likely to find on the map, which is likely to function similarly to fruit crates. If you don’t come across fruit boxes after opening them in Season 4, players will be given a random fruit. We’ll likely see the Candy Buckets provide players with a random consumable.
Most of these consumables will likely have capabilities that we already have in the game. Candy Corn will likely work like corn, the Thermal Taffy will likely work like a thermal fish, and Pepper Ming should work like peppers that are in the game right now.
Midas Fortnite Return and Ghost Henchmen
If the leaks are correct, Midas will return to Fortnite during the Fortnitemares 2020 event. Hypex originally announced that a Midas NPC will be added to the map along with Ghost Henchmen.
In Fortnite Update v14.30, Midas’ golden chair returned to The Authority, further suggesting that it will be back on the Fortnite map. Let’s not forget, it will also be part of the upcoming Last Laugh bundle which will be released next month.
When does Fortnitemares 2020 start?
There is no information on the Fortnitemares 2020 start date, but we will likely see the event start on October 27th, 28th or 29th. As soon as we know more about the event, we will definitely update you.
