Technical data, functions
If you’ve forgotten or don’t know the specs, here’s a quick rundown of what the company has to offer. The Galaxy A42 5G handset is equipped with a large 6.6-inch Super AMOLED panel with HD + resolution and Infinity-U design. The Infinity-U is the company’s quirky way of saying a U-shaped notch that the selfie camera is in. It was introduced back in 2018 when the brand didn’t want to incorporate those big notches.
Under the hood is the smartphone with a mid-range Snapdragon 750G chipset, paired with up to 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of integrated storage. Following the current trend, there is a square quad camera module on the back. The LED flash, on the other hand, is located outside the module. The setup consists of a 48MP primary sensor as well as an 8MP ultrawide lens, a 5MP depth sensor and a 5MP macro for close-ups. There’s a single 20-megapixel front snapper in the notch for selfies and video calls.
All of this is powered by a large 5,000 mAh battery that can be easily charged thanks to 15 W fast charging functions. There is a built-in fingerprint sensor for biometrics.
