Pixel phone users in India have finally got the latest Android 11 update. This comes more than a week after that Google has released the final build of Android 11. It was immediately rolled out on select Pixel, OnePlus, Xiaomi, Oppo, and Realme phones. But Pixel users in India had to wait.
The rollout was first discovered by an associated tipster Android police Almost at the same time, this was confirmed by the moderator of a Google Pixel community page Android 1
According to the tipster, the update on his Pixel 4 XL smartphone weighed 1.72 GB. And now Android 11 is available to all eligible Pixel handset users. The report added that the secondary Jio eSIM used to only serve cellular data, but can now also make calls and send SMS messages.
Interestingly, all users who were running the beta version of Android 11 got the stable build from day one.
Google has since updated those too OTA rollout page for developers which previously read: “All carriers except IN”. make the update rollout official Reddit and Twitter users also confirmed that they had started receiving the OTA.
But what caused the delay? According to Google, the delay was in making sure the update was compatible with India’s “ecosystem requirements”.
