Google Store renders reveal the blue Pixel 4A that never existed

Google definitely had plans for its Pixel 4A to be available in multiple colors – at least two – before the COVID-19 pandemic led to the phone’s very belated release in August. 9to5Google discovered that a 3D rendering of the Pixel 4A in blue was recently installed on the Google Store’s servers. It’s a sky blue color with an orange accent button, which is a nice contrast to the black 4A (with mint power button) that Google eventually shipped.

The company originally planned to launch the Pixel 4A in May to match the release cycle of its predecessor. However, the pandemic threw a wrench into these plans and hampered Google̵

7;s ability to complete the finalization … whatever it took to finalize it. The long standstill apparently also convinced Google to cut away color options and only release a single Pixel 4A. One size fits all. A color. Only one storage capacity.

Google is expected to once again give customers more choices when the Pixel 4A 5G and Pixel 5 are fully unveiled this fall. The blue 4A is just a glimpse of what might have been in a normal world where the company looked over its original plans.
