Halo 3: ODST falls to PC next week

Halo’s long overdue missing PC versions will continue with Halo 3: ODST on Tuesday, September 22nd, Microsoft announced today. ODST was one of Bungie’s final Halo games, and it turns away from the jacked-up super soldier master chef to focus on some normal squishy people: Orbital Drop Shock Troopers. The game has a good crew borrowing voices from sci-fi stars from the ̵

7;90s, including Nathan Fillion, Alan Tudyk, and Adam Baldwin of Firefly and Tricia Helfer of Battlestar Galactica (plus Nathan Drake, just because). I’ve heard good things but never played them, so I’m really looking forward to them.

Set during Halo 2, ODST focuses on a group of troops that land in their little pods to fight the federal invasion of New Mombasa. Lots of urban action for a series that walks around the fields so often. And you’ve got all of your friends from TV.

Halo 3: ODST was first released on Xbox 360 in 2009 and is coming to PC. It supports high resolutions, high frame rates, FOV options and other such technobits. It still looks largely the same – it’s not a big remake or Owt.

Halo 3: ODST will be available on Steam and the Microsoft Store on September 22nd, sold separately or as part of the Master Chief Collection.

Halo Infinite, the first new game in the series in five years, was recently postponed to 2021 – which likely exceeds their backup plan of releasing it in parts. You will have to wait a while to see Spacegorilla’s WWE promo.
