The 2018 drama Blind spotting gets a TV remake.
Hamilton Star Jasmine Cephas Jones, who appeared in the original film, will lead the cast on the new show, repeating her role as Ashley.
Daveed Diggs and Rafael Casal wrote, produced, and starred in the film. You take creative control of the spin-off series, with Casal also playing the lead role.
The remake follows Ashley, whose 12-year-old partner Miles and her son’s father are abruptly imprisoned. She is then forced to face her sudden existential crisis when she is forced to move in with Miles’ mother and half-sister.
“Let us bring you into play, bruh. No description will encompass the complexity of a Blind spotting Series, ya dig? “said Diggs and Casal in a statement.
“So just get the juice because it’s playing Jasmine Cephas Jones, it’s set in Oakland and we’re doing it, so it’s easy Finna to be hella good and the soundtrack will indeed clap. OH BOY!”
The series is broadcast on Starz with half-hour episodes.

“Rafael, Daveed and Jasmine made a beautiful movie that we believe translates perfectly into a compelling show for Starz,” said Christina Davis, Starz ‘president of original programming, in a statement.
“This provocative and powerful narrative couldn’t be more timely, and if we take the story from Ashley’s perspective, we’ll be able to shed light on so many important social issues that characters and audiences continue to grapple with.”
Hamilton is available to stream on Disney + now.
