Blizzard Entertainment has announced that today a major update for Hearthstone's Battlegrounds mode will be released.
Battlegrounds entered the Open Beta on November 12th. It gives fans a new way to play Hearthstone in a competitive environment.
The update adds three new heroes:
- Ogre Rafaam
- Edwin Vancleef
Syvlanas lets players remove a servant from the blackboard to give adjacent + 1 / + 1. Rafaam can add to your hand the first opposing servant you kill in one go. Vancleef gives a Servant + 1 / + 1 for each Servant you sold this turn. The interesting thing about all these new heroes is that they are flexible enough to work with all the henchmen.
Two heroes that Blizzard shot last month also return: Millificent Manastorm (with a nerf) and Lich Baz's (with a buff). Five more leave the pool with these five heroes:
- Patches the Pirate
- Professor Putricide
- Trade Prince Gallywix Balance changes, including some of the most powerful changes in game mode, such as AF Kay, The Rat King and patchwork. Blizzard also uses Lightfang Enforcer, one of the strongest maps in Battlegrounds. At the end of your turn, a random Mech, Murloc, Beast and Demon will receive + 2 / + 2. Now spend + 2 / + 1
The update also adds two new cards, Floating Watcher (a demon) and King Bagurgle (a murloc). These cards should give each of their tribes a power boost in mode and put them on a more consistent footing in the late game of 'Mechs and Beasts.
