You want to rip music from YouTube, but leave the video behind? There are dozens of different YouTube Ripper services, and while many of them do the work, those we cover in this tutorial are probably the simplest and most user-friendly of the series.
Please make a note: Ripping Audio from YouTube violates YouTube's Terms of Service. This means that Google may override your account if it finds out and decides to take action. There are ways to access music from YouTube without breaking the rules. For example, Google's YouTube Red Service. We recommend that you consider this first. Be careful and know exactly that you could get into trouble with Google.
There are a number of online tools for reading audio from YouTube videos, but Y2Mate is our personal favorite. It has an intuitive user interface and fast conversion to a variety of formats, including MP3. You can also complete the conversion on the same page with no intervening ad popups.
The only drawback is that videos longer than two hours can only be converted to M4A format.
Step 2: Open a new tab and go to the homepage of Y2Mate. Paste your YouTube URL in the "Insert Search or Link Here …" box, select the audio or video format you want, and click the green "Download" button.
Step 3: This displays another download button that is downloaded directly to your browser when the selected video is clicked. Quick and Easy
Online services are great for downloading and converting YouTube videos. However, due to YouTube violations, they will be downgraded from time to time, so you are looking for alternatives. Desktop applications do not have this problem, and our favorite is 4K Video Downloader. Although his name suggests otherwise, this tool is not only for downloading high-quality videos, it can also be used to rip audio from them.
It does not work with YouTube's live streaming service, but you can learn how to download music from YouTube using a desktop tool
Step 1: Download and install 4K Video Downloader from the official website. Do not worry about the paid premium versions – you do not need their features and the free version works just as well.
Step 2: Copy the URL of your selected video from your browser window and then click the "Insert Link" button – with the "+" icon in the upper left corner of the 4K Video Downloader window.
Step 3: You will get some options. Click "Download Video" and select "Extract Audio" from the drop-down menu that appears. You can choose a format if you prefer to convert it to an M4A or OGG file and its quality based on your own settings. In the bottom bar, you can also select the name and location for the download.
Step 4: When you're done, click the "Extract" button at the bottom right.
Step 5: The progress bar that displays will give you various information such as download speed and estimated time remaining. When you're done, you can right-click or use the three-dot menu link on the right to open the file's location or play it from your favorite player. The audio of the video is now ripped and you can do what you want with it.
