How to mute notifications while mirroring your phone’s screen

Since gyms and sports facilities were closed due to the coronavirus pandemic, I started training with various fitness apps at home. But I find it cumbersome to watch training videos on the phone and follow the movements of the trainers.

So I mirrored my phone screen on my TV. But I was upset when WhatsApp and Twitter notifications appeared on the TV screen during training. And I̵

7;m sure you won’t appreciate app notification when mirroring a video or showing some photos to your friends.

You just have to do a few simple steps to avoid interference. Here’s a handy guide on how to mute notifications when mirroring your phone screen.

iOS

  • Go to Settings> Do Not Disturb
  • Scroll down to silence Section and select the always possibility
  • Now you can easily activate the “do not disturb” mode via the control center when you mirror your phone.

A handy tip: Long press the Do Not Disturb button to bring up a pop-up menu where you can activate the feature for an hour.

Android

  • Go to Settings> Sound
  • Go to Do not disturb> restrict notifications
  • Tap “No pictures or sounds from notifications”.

This is the process for muting notifications in Google Pixel. For other Android phones, the last step can vary depending on the software of the phone.

Don’t forget to turn off Do Not Disturb mode when you are finished exercising so you don’t miss any important notifications.
