Many artists and other people are currently turning to Instagram Live to stay connected with their audience. A disadvantage of Instagram’s live streams is that they disappear after 24 hours because they take place in stories. As of today, you can save live videos to IGTV, the Instagram app for videos that are longer than the ones you see in the main feed.

The update allows musicians and others who upload performances (and questions and answers, etc.) to Instagram to properly archive their streams so viewers can intercept them more than a day later. You can still download a video of the stream and post it on YouTube if you prefer. Facebook said last month that the option was underway as part of an expansion of its live streaming capabilities on its various platforms.
