LG and US airline Sprint unveiled the LG V50 ThinQ 5G phone on Sunday at MWC 201

9 in Barcelona. It is the first 5G-capable device of the Korean telephone manufacturer, that is, it is connected to the latest generation of high-speed mobile data. As one of the first 5G high-end phones, it can also compete directly with the recently launched Samsung Galaxy S10 5G Galaxy S10 5G . It will be available later this year in the US in the US on the 5G Ultra Wideband network from Verizon, T-Mobile and AT & T.

With its 6.4-inch OLED display and barely existing screens, the phone looks very much like its predecessor LG V40 at first glance. But this phone features a superpower emblem on the back: a bright yellow 5G logo that lights up when connected to Sprint's 5G network Dual-screen attachment …

As the fourth largest airline in the US, Sprint plans to offer its 5G network in several cities this year: Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, and Washington, DC. In a meeting with reporters from February 2018 John Saw, Sprint's Chief Technology Officer, said the network wants to deliver 5G faster to other people than other carriers. The Snapdragon 855 Octa-Core processor, 6GB of RAM and a 4,000 mAh battery should balance the power consumption of the 5G connection.

It also has the same three-camera array on the back as the V40, with a standard 12 megapixel shooter, a 12 megapixel telephoto lens for portraits and zoom, and a wide-angle lens that provides a 108-degree angle Visibility to pack more in each shot. The V50 also adds portrait mode for videos, giving you the movie-like look when you shoot subjects with a blurry background effect. And since the V50 has two front cameras, the portrait mode for video is available for both the rear and the front camera.

See the chart below to see how the V50 compares to LG's other recently announced premium phone, the G8. Read the full coverage of CNET's MWC here.
