LG Velvet debuted, still no word on US availability

LG needs a winner. I’ve been saying this for years. What doesn’t LG need? A major flagship phone launch with limited global availability. Damn, LG, you left and screwed it up again!

LG made its debut this week velvet Smartphone in South Korea, still no word on availability in the United States. Hopefully that̵

7;s not because they want to give the V60 time to saturate the market, because frankly, it’s not likely. Velvet should help us forget the V60, but instead LG lets us live with it a bit longer. Well, test our patience, LG. Be that way too.

Apart from the availability, we have velvet details! The phone has a 6.8-inch P-OLED display (1080 x 2460), a Snapdragon 765 processor with 5G connectivity, 128 GB memory, 8 GB RAM, triple rear-view cameras (48 MP standard + 8 MP Ultra -Wide + 5 MP depth) and a fingerprint reader under the display, 4,300 mAh battery, protection class IP68 for water and dust as well as Android 10.

LG says an announcement for other global markets will come later this month, but at the moment Velvet is only for South Korea. The price converted into USD is around USD 700. That’s not bad.

We will of course inform you as soon as we have heard of a US launch. In the meantime, you can watch LG’s digital launch event for the phone. It’s all about fashion and colors, which fits, because the velvet looks super hot and is available in a variety of sexy colors. It’s great hardware, LG, now just give it to us.

The event starts at 30:00 a.m.
