Entrepreneur First (EF), the London-based company founder and "Talent First" investor, presented his latest cohort of "deep tech" companies on a first "virtual" demo day in the midst of the novel corona virus pandemic. Presenting startups in the format of a nifty recorded video consist of teams formed at EF's three European locations: London, Berlin and Paris. A total of 25 new startups were founded in various technology fields such as AI, biotechnology, machine learning and robotics.
This includes companies that are involved in the discovery of drugs using digital twin cells, the monitoring of environmental pollutants, and the development of artificial brains for robotics applications. to name a few (the last one was a sip).
It is also worth pointing out again that EF stands out from the many other demo days in the UK and beyond ̵
Keyword from Matt Clifford, co-founder of Entrepreneur First: “While the format of today's demo day event may have changed, the focus remains the same – to introduce the world's most important companies of the future to the best investors in the world. Entrepreneur First believes that the best way for the most ambitious and talented people to realize their potential is to use their extraordinary talent to build businesses, change lives and change the world. With the right support, a talented person has the potential to fundamentally change the way an entire industry works – which may be even more important in this era of global change. “
In the meantime, there is an interesting treat here: According to a source, Ocher Bio, one of the leading EF companies that develops gene therapies for the treatment of donor liver outside the body, made the unusual decision to be in the middle of the EF program, where the founders met to join the Silicon Valley YC accelerator effectively filled in the demo day with half their round.
