“We are investigating an issue involving multiple access Microsoft ( 365 services. We are working to determine the full impact and will provide more information shortly, “the company said in a tweet at 5:44 pm ET. )
The company stated that the affected services include Outlook.com, Office.com, Power Platform, Dynamics365 and Microsoft Teams including Teams Live Event.
“Existing customer sessions are not affected and any user who is logged into an existing session can continue their sessions,”
According to Down Detector, a website that tracks internet outages, users reported problems with logging in, server connectivity, and Outlook. The downtime began around 5:00 p.m. ET for Office 365, according to the location.
Microsoft initially attributed the failure to a recent platform change, but later stated that “after rolling back a recent change, there was no increase in successful connections. We are working on evaluating additional mitigation solutions while we do the Investigate the root cause. “
The company says it is now “redirecting traffic to alternative infrastructure to improve user experience” while further investigating the outage.
