Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella expressed confidence that the software giant will emerge from the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic “fairly strongly”.
In an interview with CNBC the Indian-born CEO said Microsoft had an excellent record. The company also has a very diverse business with a mix of annuity and non-annuity that is also stronger than the previous financial crisis.
Nadella claimed that Microsoft Azure and cloud services were under pressure as a number of people work and stay indoors.
He added that Microsoft is able to meet the needs of working from home kits. Microsoft Teams, a communication and collaboration software for the workplace, has become one of the most popular platforms for people who work from home. The software is also used by educational institutions to conduct online courses.
"If this had been an earlier generation of data center architectures or software architectures, we probably wouldn't have been able to deal with this crisis as effectively as we could," said Nadella.
However, he expressed concern that demand would continue in the United States, Europe, and other industrialized countries that were largely affected by the pandemic.
On Sunday, Nadella described the coronavirus pandemic as "unknown" territory to his employees. "
" How many of you have had times in the past few weeks when it felt overwhelming and comprehensive to me . I am concerned about the health and safety of my family, co-workers and friends. My wife and I are concerned about their aging parents who are far from us in India, ”wrote the Microsoft CEO in the letter he also wrote LinkedIn shared.
