Milla Jovovich trades zombies for giant monsters in the first full Monster Hunter trailer

After several years of trying to defeat zombies resident EvilMilla Jovovich teams up with an army of soldiers to take on a mega-monster invasion Monster hunter.

Based on Capcom’s popular game franchise, Monster hunter follows Jovovich’s Captain Artemis and her team as they are transported to an alternate universe in which monsters are paramount. Without knowing how to kill monsters (which is not exactly what most people on Earth have to deal with), Artemis and her unit work with a mysterious man named Hunter (Tony Jaa). Aside from Hunter, it̵

7;s up to the team to find a way to fight and destroy the various monsters they encounter in order to protect their home.

Directed by Paul WS Anderson (Resident Evil, Mortal Kombat), Monster hunter looks like a mashup of Mad Max: Anger Street, resident Evil, and a touch of different Godzilla Creatures in the designs of monsters. It also looks like a departure from the Capcom series, which allowed players to roam an open world and fight monsters in slow, carefully crafted battles.

Based on the trailer, I wouldn’t prepare for any kind of standout dialogue writing either – but I like that we’re at a point where we’re referring to random Marvel Cinematic Universe movies (in this case Guardian of the Galaxy).

Monster hunter is scheduled for December, but like almost every movie this year, the movie could be delayed.
