After announcing the new generation of the foldable Razr, Motorola developed a new mid-ranger: the Moto G9 Plus. It has great specs for a modest price point, but there are many similarities. To understand whether the new Motorola Mid-Ranger deserves a chance or not, we decided to compare it to the latest affordable beasts from Xiaomi and Realme: the POCO X3 NFC and the Realme 7 Pro. These devices are tremendous value for money, which is why we selected them for this fight. Let’s find out all the differences between the three handsets with a detailed comparison of the specifications.

Not everyone likes the POCO X3 NFC due to the large POCO branding on the back and its weird camera module, but it has a very nice build quality, including an aluminum frame. The Motorola Moto G9 Plus looks pretty good with its compact camera module and reminds me of the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 range. Even Realme 7 Pro has an original and good looking design and is even water repellent. It is very difficult to determine a winner in the design comparison as it mainly depends on the tastes of the users: do you prefer better build quality or a nicer look?
The Realme 7 Pro is the only handset in this trio with an AMOLED panel. Because of this, it wins the comparison. It shows more brilliant colors and has a fingerprint reader under the display. Realme decided to equip this device with an AMOLED display after listening to user feedback: it seems that users would prefer AMOLED displays with a standard refresh rate instead of IPS panels with high refresh rates. However, the POCO X3 NFC remains very interesting because it has a very high refresh rate of 120 Hz and the HDR10 certification. It even comes with stereo speakers for a better multimedia experience.
Technical data and software
The most powerful device in this comparison is the POCO X3 NFC, as it contains a more powerful chipset: the new Snapdragon 732G, which is actually an upgrade of the Snapdragon 730G of the Motorola Moto G9 Plus. The chipset is coupled with 6 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of internal UFS 2.1 storage, which you can further expand with a micro SD. The Motorola Moto G9 Plus offers a better chipset than the Realme 7 Pro (Snapdragon 730G versus Snapdragon 720G), but Realme 7 Pro is still superior as it doubles the RAM (8 GB versus 4 GB) and the Snapdragon 720G is more or less the same Level as with the 730G. With these three devices, of course, you get Android 10 out of the box.
On paper, the most advanced camera department is on board the POCO X3 NFC, at least as far as the reversing cameras are concerned. In fact, it has a better ultrawide sensor with a resolution of 13MP instead of the 8MP ultrawide lens found on the Moto G9 Plus and Realme 7 Pro. On the other hand, Realme 7 Pro wins the selfie camera comparison with its 32 MP front camera. Motorola Moto G9 Plus and Realme 7 Pro have the same rear camera department, which shouldn’t be that different from the Xiaomi POCO X3 NFC.
The POCO X3 NFC has a larger 5160 mAh battery and should last longer than the Realme 7 Pro on a single charge despite its higher refresh rate. Motorola Moto G9 Plus should have a similar battery life with a 5000 mAh battery. However, the Realme 7 Pro charges much faster with its 65W fast charging technology.
The price for POCO X3 NFC is 229 euros worldwide, for Motorola Moto G9 Plus at 250 euros and for Realme 7 Pro in India at 230 euros. The most complete device in this comparison is the POCO X3 NFC, but some may prefer the Realme 7 Pro for its AMOLED display and 65W fast charge. Which one would you choose?
