Netflix promises to remove real "Rail Box" clips from the "Bird Box"

Netflix and the people behind the hit movie came under fire for using real footage of the 2013 railway disaster to stage a nuclear attack on London. The tragedy killed 47 people in the city of Quebec when a freight train with 74 cars and crude oil was derailed, causing an explosion. Dozens of houses and buildings had to be demolished.

The mayor of Lac-Mégantic, Julie Morin, promised that Netflix would remove the material ̵

1; she wanted the company to flip through its catalog with pictures of the event for shows. Even in the Canadian House of Commons, an application was made requesting the company to remove the pictures and pay compensation to the city. In addition, Quebec's Minister of Culture, Nathalie Roy, wrote to the Streaming Service CEO in a letter to delete the clips.

"Yes, there was a delay," said Morin, "but in the end, the important thing is that people have come to the conclusion that the situation was significant enough to calm down." It is expected that Netflix the footage over the next few weeks by cutouts from a television series worldwide replaced.
