Disney is thrilled with the success of Baby Yoda and has ordered a new Star Wars show for its Disney + streaming service, which, however, seems to be more with American Ninja Warrior do as The Mandalorian .
Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge is described by Disney as a test of "Strength, Knowledge, and Valor," in which the contestants compete in a series of different obstacles to claim the rank of Jedi Knight to reach. The show is moderated by Ahmed Best, best known for playing Jar Jar Binks in Star Wars . The show will confront players in three different locations with different challenges: a forest planet, a Jedi star cruiser, and a Jedi temple.
"A game show in the Star Wars Galaxy fits perfectly with Disney," said Dan Silver, Vice President of Unwritten Originals at Disney, in a press release.
Disney currently has a number of un-written original series, including The World after Jeff Goldblum and Kristen Bell's Encore . The Jedi Temple Challenge marks the first child-friendly game show on the platform. Adding the show to the Disney + catalog happens at a time when competitors like Netflix are trying to find more game shows for their streaming services.
There's not much detail on the show's schedule – Disney, for example, has not said how many attendees will attend – but the show will be premiered in 2020.
