?? I look forward to returning to streaming full time and connecting with my loyal fan base. ”
Tyler “Ninja” Blevins has signed a new, multi-year exclusive contract with Twitch for an undisclosed amount.
“I look forward to returning to streaming full-time and connecting with my loyal fan base,” Blevins told The Hollywood Reporter (thanks, VGC).
“I really took the time to decide which platform was best, and Twitch has supported that process throughout the process and understood my overall career goals. In this next chapter, I’ll point out how to elevate underrepresented creators and give them more To give eyes. ”
“I look forward to working with Twitch to demonstrate how this amazing community of gamers can make a meaningful impact.”
Mixer was originally launched under the name Beam in 2016 and was quickly acquired by Microsoft, which renamed the platform with its current nickname the following year. Despite the company’s concerted efforts to increase the popularity of its service – including signing up Blevins as the exclusive mixer in 2019 – the live streaming company battled competition from Twitch, YouTube and Facebook. As a result, Microsoft shut down its Mixer live streaming platform in July and instead partnered with Facebook Gaming.
“Tyler is an icon in the gaming community and it was amazing to see the impact he is making on the industry and wider culture,” commented Michael Aragon, vice president of content at Twitch. “Gaming – and the people who love it – are now being recognized by a broad mainstream audience because of Tyler, and we know he’s just getting started.”
In similar news, Fall Guys developer Mediatonic began pitting brands against each other in a bidding war a few weeks ago to bring their skin design into play. The proceeds went to the video game charity Special Effect.
The combined bid from Ninja, Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson, G2 Esports and Aim Lab, each adding their own costume design to the game, is a whopping $ 1M (£ 744,000). In addition, the quartet has announced that they will soon be running a charity stream to raise even more money for Special Effect.
