No cell phone in sight

Welcome to Fav'd For Later, a compilation of our most popular memes, trends and all-round good internet content on Friday. This week I have been released by a meme.

Can I just say something quickly? People shouting at you to leave your phone, and live at the moment are annoying. They are annoying! God, that feels good.

As someone who spends 85 percent of my life professionally online, I get it . Comparing our lives with others on Instagram makes us sad. On Facebook, all your old high school acquaintances show how racist they are. Twitter is a Hellmouth social media site. We spend a lot of time wiping and tapping, like and twitter, and our phones keep us in touch wherever we are.

But what makes it even worse is the sect of tempting people who live to wag their fingers while using their cellphone. "Live in the moment," they harp like a pseudo-enlightened tech buddha, as if you could not be there, and also a picture of that very good dog on the corner.

If you feel as frustrated as you are now, I have a panacea in the form of a meme. (What else?) "No cell phone in sight" is the kind of sassy dismissal that I live for. The self-explanatory sarcasm calms the soul.

Wow. If only we could return to simpler times when we were all free from our technical inclinations. It really was an easier time.

I feel better.

Elsewhere …

It is impossible to explain why the Japanese reality TV show Terrace House is so good without it being totally boring. That's just a fact. Nevertheless, I would watch a whole series based on this gag.

And now the opposite of Apple's glass door problem. Bless your idiot baby bird hearts.

VidCon co-founder and longtime vlogger Hank Green is launching the popular YouTube series SciShow in a new podcast called SciFi Tangents . Together with Ceri Riley, Sam Schultz and Stefan Chin they try to deal with science. At the moment we only have teasers, but the podcast premiere on the 1

3th of November.

I am glad that we have made this journey together today. I love to guide you through the Internet like this Golden Retriever.
