It’s time to take the upcoming NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Founders Edition out of the box and share it with our audience. We originally filmed the video as part of the full review. So if there are some strange changes, it should conform to that embargo. Announced on August 21st and released on September 17th, NVIDIA Ampere-based gaming GPUs promise their biggest generational leap to date. However, if you want confirmation, you’ll have to wait a little longer. Today we can share the map itself so hopefully you can get a better idea of the Founders Edition map, as it’s coming, and just have a closer look at it.
Unpack the video
The packaging for the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Founders Edition is outwardly even more minimal than ever before, but still bold and attractive. Inside, they have changed the way the graphics card is presented. Now it is at a slight angle and lies down instead of standing upright as it has been for several generations. The usual accessories / information box is located under the card, but this time with the ingenious new 12-pin microfit connector.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 graphics card specifications
The RTX 3080 has some crazy specs such as: B. 68 SM units, resulting in a total of 8704 CUDA cores. In addition to the CUDA cores, the card includes next generation RT cores (ray tracing), tensor cores and brand new SM or streaming multiprocessor units. Other specifications include 272 TMUs, 272 tensor cores, 96 ROPs and 68 RT cores. The card has a base clock of 1440 MHz and a boost clock of 1710 MHz with a TDP of 320 W.
In terms of memory, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 comes with 10 GB of memory, as does the next-generation GDDR6X design. Using the latest and greatest in Micron graphics memory chips, the RTX 3080 GDDR6X can deliver 19.0 Gbps memory speeds. This together with a bus interface of 320 bits provides a cumulative bandwidth of 760 Gbit / s.
