NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 3080 graphics card was reportedly tested by the Chinese Tech Media Outlet TecLab. The point of sale posted a video showing multiple benchmarks and game performance tests for the card. While the video was being removed (likely due to an embargo violation), the performance tests were intercepted by our friends at Videocardz.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 will be the flagship of the RTX 30 series and is located directly below the GeForce RTX 3090, the Halo product of this generation. In performance tests, the GeForce RTX 3080 was rated on a range of AAA game titles and also on plastics, including a range of 3DMark tests.
Performance was measured using the GeForce 456.16 drivers, which appear to be the official test driver for the GeForce RTX 3080 graphics card. It should be noted, however, that based on TecLab’s previous benchmarking coverage, these latest tests should be run with a light pinch of salt. The test setup included an Intel Core i9-10900K and 32 GB DDR4 memory (4133 MHz with CL17 timing). The power supply used was a Superflower LeadEX G1000, a 1000W power supply that should be more than enough to power the entire system.
Synthetic performance tests for NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080
First up, we have the synthetic tests that were done in 3DMark Firestrike, Time Spy, and Port Royal. In 3DMark Firestrike, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 is around 25% faster than the RTX 2080 Ti and 45% faster than the RTX 2080 SUPER in the Performance and Extreme tests. Surprisingly, the card offers an even higher performance when tested in the ultra preset (4K), which shows a jump of up to 36% compared to the RTX 2080 Ti with 1 GB higher storage capacity. It looks like the Firestrike Ultra preset can make better use of the Ampere GPU core than the other two presets.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Gaming Performance Tests
Following the gaming performance tests, a number of titles were tested including Far Cry 5, Borderlands 3, Forza Horizon 4, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Horizon Zero Dawn, Shadow of The Tomb Raider, Control, and Death Stranding. In the standard games, the GeForce RTX 3080 is up to 62% faster than the RTX 2080 SUPER. In titles that support DLSS, the RTX 3080 performs up to 70-80% better than with DLSS Off, which is pretty impressive.

Finally, electricity consumption is also mentioned. With the GeForce RTX 3080 installed, TecLab reports a maximum system power consumption of 500 W, which does not seem to be too much compared to existing high-end graphics cards. With that in mind, many publications including us will be releasing the full RTX 3080 review on September 14th. So if you’re waiting for in-depth testing and data for the card, you can just wait a few more days.

The RTX 3080 has some crazy specs such as: B. 68 SM units, resulting in a total of 8704 CUDA cores. In addition to the CUDA cores, the card includes next generation RT cores (ray tracing), tensor cores and brand new SM or streaming multiprocessor units. Other specifications include 272 TMUs, 272 tensor cores, 96 ROPs and 68 RT cores. The card has a base clock of 1440 MHz and a boost clock of 1710 MHz with a TDP of 320 W.
In terms of memory, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 comes with 10 GB of memory, as does the next-generation GDDR6X design. Using the latest and greatest in Micron graphics memory chips, the RTX 3080 GDDR6X can deliver 19.0 Gbps memory speeds. This together with a bus interface of 320 bits provides a cumulative bandwidth of 760 Gbit / s.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 will hit the consumer market on September 17th, 2020. The reference variant of the Founders Edition costs 699 US dollars. The NVIDIA RTX 3080 will be priced at $ 699 (MSRP). However, custom models vary based on their design and the added performance they offer. For users waiting for performance reviews, the NDA for this will increase on September 14th for the RTX 3080.
There’s currently no detailed performance metrics that NVIDIA shares, but according to the information presented, the GeForce RTX 3070 is faster than an RTX 2080 Ti, the RTX 3080 is way ahead of the RTX 2080 Ti, and the RTX 3090 is roughly 50% faster than that the RTX 2080 Ti, which is very impressive for the entire lineup stack. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 itself is said to be twice as fast as the RTX 2080 and considerably faster than the RTX 2080 Ti, which makes it a perfect 4K gaming graphics card with 60 FPS for its price.
