Oculus Quest 2 Leaked From Facebook, Features XR2, ‘Fast 4K’

It looks like Oculus Quest 2 has leaked again, and this time from Facebook itself.

A lot of content has been discovered on Facebook’s Blueprint website surrounding the rumored device, which is actually called the Oculus Quest 2. Some of it has been removed, but not before others could post it on YouTube, and some of it is still available as well. It has a pretty detailed rundown of the not-yet-announced headset and walks you through some of its features and specifications.

Oculus Quest 2 has been leaked

The video mentions that the headset has a new, more comfortable design that we had known about from previous, less official leaks from the device. It also describes the specs in detail ̵

1; Quest 2 apparently has 6GB of RAM and uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR2 chipset. That’s a huge leap from the original Quest, which included a Snapdragon 835.

It also gives players “an almost 4K display” with native 2K per eye. The “Inside The Headset” video below confirms that it has 50% more pixels than the original Quest screen.

The video further indicates that there will be a 256GB version of Quest 2, and we get a glimpse of new controllers with “updated ergonomics”. The headset will also play your old Quest titles, although we haven’t seen any new games or experiences. The following video confirms that support for Oculus Link is still included.

However, the videos don’t confirm the price.

It is very likely that this content was actually saved for the Facebook Connect developer conference on Wednesday September 16. The new show replaces the old Oculus Connect event and is expected to host the official Quest 2 reveal, along with other announcements.

We’ll be covering the latest news from the show, so stay tuned. So if Oculus Quest 2 is leaked, do you plan to pick up the kit? Let us know in the comments below!
