Shortly after HydrogenOS 11 was teased in China, Pete Lau of OnePlus contacted them to delight users with an update about OxygenOS 11.
Pete, through one Blog The OnePlus forum post confirmed that the final developer preview of OxygenOS 11 based on Android 11 will be released on August 10, 2020. The smaller community can still test the build to find potential bugs before moving on to open beta.
Regarding OxygenOS 11 itself, Pete said the company will progress to improve the user experience without sacrificing performance while maintaining a cleaner, lighter user interface that also has a variety of customizations. He hinted that the OxygenOS 11 will have new design elements and the most wanted features of the users, one of which is the always-on feature already confirmed.
While he failed to release more details about OxygenOS 11, the teasers, the Chinese version aka HydrogenOS 11, which is expected to be released in China on August 10, have done so Approved Features like Zen Mode 2.0 and a revised Dark Mode.
In Zen mode 2.0, multiple users can participate and have new topics like sky, sea and grass. The dark mode, however, is revised with a scheduler option and should be more pleasant to look at than before.
Aside from that, the new HydrogenOS is expected to feature features such as one-handed stress-free mode, a revised asymmetrical design for a better experience. Still, OnePlus doesn’t want to limit these features to the Chinese version, and we can assume that they will be limited to them OxygenOS also.
For those who don’t know, HydrogenOS is a Chinese version of OxygenOS and has a similar design and functions, but certain elements for the Chinese audience. In the past, the main features were shared between the two versions, and we assume that they will be the same in version 11. However, we have to wait until August 10th to find out more and take a closer look.
