OnePlus has slowly grown beyond smartphones and is growing as a technology company. In addition to other products, a smartwatch should also be in the works for later this year. Right before the start, we have some leaks that tell us what to expect.
In addition to smartphones, OnePlus also occasionally makes televisions, audio products and even accessories. However, the company has also toyed with the idea of drones, tablets, and smartwatches in the past. However, most of them were hired because they wanted to focus on their core business. As of 2020, the OnePlus Watch project appears to have been revived and could actually be about to launch.
Many don̵7;t seem to understand, so I’ll clear it up. The clock is circular. WOTCH https://t.co/HkevfvMfgTSeptember 10, 2020
Previously, only information about the smartwatch was available that was in development and could be launched later this year. A new leak now confirms its existence and also suggests what it might look like. Leakster Max J., who was also at the top of the OnePlus 8 and Nord rumors, states that the OnePlus watch will have a circular design with a round display.
No further details were given, but it is expected to run on Google’s Wear OS, with the Oxygen OS customizations being the foreground. We also expect it to be powered by the new Snapdragon Wear 4100 platform, which will greatly improve performance and efficiency. OnePlus could have been waiting for this last piece.
Earlier this year, Oppo also unveiled its first smartwatch, which many believed would serve as the base for the OnePlus watch. However, the round dial could mean that it would be more inspired by the upcoming smartwatches from Vivo or Realme.
There’s still no clarity as to when the OnePlus smartwatch will officially be launched, but it shouldn’t be too far now. The most likely case is that it’ll share the stage with the OnePlus 8T in about a month. On the horizon, we also have the OnePlus Nord Lite and possibly a cheaper pair of truly wireless headphones as well.
