Oppo launches Reno 4 Pro for $ 470

Oppo has announced the Reno 4 Pro for international release. It is a mid-range phone that is not a million miles from the new north of its sister company OnePlus in terms of specifications, design and prices.

The Reno 4 Pro has a matte back with gradient and a glossy finish on the quad camera. It feels very thin and light by today’s standards, with a thickness of 7.7 mm and 161 g. The camera buck has the legend “INNOVATIVE QUADCAM” in capital letters, which is quite amusing to write on a camera shot, but otherwise this is an attractive device.

The phone also looks good from the front, with a 6.5-inch 90 Hz 1080p AMOLED screen with the least bends around the edges. In contrast to other curved screens, this control panel does not extend to the edge of the front panel. Depending on your perspective, this can be a pro or a contra.

The internal specifications include a Snapdragon 720G processor (compared to the 765G of the North), 8 GB RAM, 128 GB storage and a 4,000 mAh battery. Oppo has installed a 65 W SuperVOOC 2.0 flash charge, with which the battery can be charged via USB-C in 36 minutes. While this is slightly slower than implementing the technology on some other Oppo phones, it is fast compared to almost any other company. It’s not wireless charging, which isn’t surprising to Oppo.

The camera setup includes a 48-megapixel main sensor, a 32-megapixel selfie camera, an 8-megapixel ultrawide, a 2-megapixel macro camera and a 2-megapixel monochrome sensor. One of the most important camera functions is a black and white video mode that highlights people or individual colors so that you can make your home videos look like this Sin City – It actually works pretty well.

The Reno 4 Pro will be available in various markets and the Indian launch will take place on August 5. There is only an 8 GB / 128 GB model and it is sold for Rs. 34,990 (~ 470 USD). This could be a difficult sale against the OnePlus Nord: OnePlus dominates the premium market in India, and the corresponding 8 GB / 128 GB model costs Rs. 27,999 ($ 375) with a faster processor.
