Pros Take Overwatch Players on the street were always Blizzard's plan for the Global eSports League and 2020 were stated as the target. However, Nanzer's announcement does not tell what the next year's format will look like. Players may need to fly between three continents for their games, in addition to an intense workout plan. They may need to travel further if the league goes beyond the current 20-team cast next year.
If the focus of the hometown is announced so far in advance, the teams should have plenty of time to prepare the venues and tackle potential visa issues. For example, a Chengdu Hunter player from China was denied prior to the start of the current Overwatch League season.
