The majority of the new COVID-19 infections are transmitted by young people, which is why the certified young person Paul Rudd asks his fellow adolescents to wear a mask.
People under 40 are driving the spread of the coronavirus, and despite misinformation from White House science advisor Dr. Scott Atlas, who specializes in neuroradiology rather than epidemiology, young people can be severely affected by the virus. While COVID infection is less likely to be fatal in a young, healthy person, it can still lead to hospitalizations and a number of unknown long-term health problems. While there are no clinical studies on how much damage the virus can do to a young person̵
Rudd, who is 51 years old but can survive as a teenager thanks to his meme-friendly personality, has teamed up with New York Governor Andrew Cuomo for a public announcement. In the delightful clip, the “actor and certified young person” explains that “Cuoms” asked him to explain the importance of wearing masks.
“Masks? They are totally a beast!” says Rudd swinging a skateboard. “So put that in your DMs and shrug it!”
He also calls his Gen Z girlfriend, Billie Eilish, and promises to “stan” her for wearing her mask.
“Masks protect you and your wet troop,” continues Rudd.
But then he breaks out of his youthful, trendy character and asks his audience to wear a mask for others.
“People are dying! Hundreds of thousands of people are dying!” Rudd scolds. “I shouldn’t have to make fun of it! It’s science!”
You heard him. Let’s COVID. Wear your mask.
