If you can buy a streamer in Roku’s line this is it. The tiny stick protrudes into the back of any HDMI-equipped TV and can stream almost any online channel with a resolution of up to 4K and HDR support. The supplied remote control also controls the volume and power of your TV. If you want to retrofit an older TV as a streaming powerhouse, the Roku Streaming Stick Plus is a breeze. With the 2020 Ultra on the way, a deal on the outgoing version was inevitable. Despite the lack of Dolby Vision, the 2019 model is still a great device. It’s our wired streamer of choice, and it has more features, including a headphone jack remote and a remote finder. Read our Roku Ultra 2019 review.

Roku’s entry-level streamer is basically the premiere, but without the ability to handle 4K HDR content. At just $ 21, this is still a way to get the latest 1080p streaming channels to older TVs. That’s $ 9 less than the new Fire Stick Lite it is currently selling for. Read our Roku Express (2019) review.

This move to the Streaming Stick Plus is more of a minibox than a stick and loses the TV power / volume controls on the remote. Otherwise, the same 4K HDR image quality and channel selection are achieved as with the Streaming Stick Plus. Read our Roku Premiere review.

The Fire TV Cube combines a voice-controlled Alexa speaker, a Fire TV 4K video streamer and a universal remote control in one device. If you want to use your voice to control the TV – not to mention other devices in your Alexa-friendly household – it might be worth taking the plunge into this interesting all-in-one product, available later this year from Prime Day was cut from $ 120 to $ 80. Note that this is the 2019 version, which has added some nice improvements since our first evaluation in 2018. Read more about Fire TV Cube.

Last week we gave the Fire TV Lite props for its great features and $ 30 affordable price. However, we’ve found that the Fire TV Stick 4K is still better – especially for owners of 4K TVs. Now that the 4K version is the same price, everyone should get this one instead (it works with non-4K HDTVs too).

Even better, try to use the promo code 4KFIRETV Get a $ 25 discount at checkout, which brings the price down to $ 5. This code doesn’t seem to work for everyone, but it may go away soon. Read our Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K review.
