Realme is expected to launch its first 55-inch TV with an industry-leading, eye-friendly SLED screen in India in the first half of October. According to industry information, Realme’s 55-inch Smart TV will also support the latest Dolby Audio solution to add more engaging and richer audio quality to TV sound.
With Dolby Audio, Realme can split and play Smart TV sound in discrete channels from the front, side and back for a surround sound effect and immersive experience, sources told IANS on Friday.
The SLED display technology is jointly developed by Realme and John Rooymans, chief scientist of SPD (Spectral Power Distribution) technology. The Realme TV uses the leading SPD technology for TV black light and offers an extremely wide color gamut and eye care for weak blue light.
While most LED TVs, including QLED, only use a blue backlight, which is then converted to white, SLED uses red, green and blue (RGB) LED light in the initial stages, which reduces the harmful effects of blue light and creates a higher color purity can be achieved.
The white background lighting, made up of RGB, offers a high level of color display capability and achieves a significantly wider color range and eye protection than QLED. Compared to a normal LED television with a color range of only 72 percent NTSC, SLED offers an NTSC color range of up to 108 percent. With RGB backlighting, SLED is also healthier for the eyes. The lower the blue light, the healthier your eye would be.
As an impetus for the Make in India initiative, Realme started a 100 percent TV production at its plant in Greater Noida. Realme started manufacturing surface mount technology (SMT) devices for its affordable smart TVs in May. The Realme Smart TVs are available in two sizes – 32-inch model and 43-inch variant.
