Resident Evil Village continues to look very strange in the latest trailer • Eurogamer.net

Coming to PS5, Series X and PC next year.

Capcom gave us a brand new trailer for Resident Evil Village, the eighth numbered episode of its long-running survival horror series, and it’s an odd little thing.

Resident Evil Village was originally announced earlier this year, with a trailer that seemed like a world a long way from recent series offerings due to its weird, damp atmosphere and deeply gothic, snow-capped village backdrop.

However, it is a direct sequel to Louisiana-based Resident Evil 7 and sees the game̵

7;s protagonist, Ethan Winters, being led into the mysterious titled village when his wife Mia, as shown in the announcement’s trailer, is killed by Chris Redfield for the unknown will reasons for it.

A report earlier this year suggested that Resident Evil Village would mark a “serious departure” from previous games that “many purists will hate,” with an emphasis on “hallucinations, occultism, insanity”. How true that is remains to be seen, but there’s no doubt that Capcom shows off its weird side in today’s trailer, which even squeezes into a stylized fairy tale.

Resident Evil Village is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and PC next year.
